How Deep

October 23, 2009

How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Colour Revolt

Color Revolt is one of my favorite bands right now.  Do yourself a favor and and go buy their new CD, Plunder, Beg and Curse.  It’s real good.  Oh and while your at it go ahead and get their EP.  This is a video for the highest played song on my iTunes, “Mattresses Underwater.”

Start it out right…

Kele Okereke of Bloc PartyWhen thinking about what you want to write about in your very first blog post you realize that you have to set the tone for the rest of the time that you will be blogging.  I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to two of my favorite things.  One is music.  The other is photography (mostly as a spectator).  I believe that this picture is one of the best live concert shots I have ever seen.  Enjoy.  (This shot was taken by Shane Bee.  See it at his flickr page here.)
